FAQs

For Active Mg and MenoXcel

  • Is ActiveMg safe for young children?

ActiveMg is safe for children as it only contains minerals and vitamins that we have in our body anyway, however the one word of caution for kids is that our product contains Zinc and there are maximum daily-recommended dosages of Zinc for both adults and children. Our product dose rate is 2 - 3 capsules per day, but for children we suggest you use no more than 2 capsules per day as you are getting up towards the maximum zinc dosage. We are often also asked about suggestions for children on taking capsules, as many kids don’t like swallowing capsules or tablets. The answer there is that you can empty the contents of the 2 capsules into a glass of fruit juice or flavored water and allow them to drink it. It is the ingredients in the capsule (and not the capsule itself) that does the work, so this is a practical way of getting children to take the product. This method is also useful for adults who don’t like swallowing pills or capsules. Generally speaking this advice is suitable for children 10 years and above. Below 10 years of age we recommend you consult your doctor as to suitability of taking ActiveMg. • Can I take ActiveMg with my other medication/s?

There are no known contraindications with ActiveMg and any other medication you might be on. Given that ActiveMg is a blend of vitamins and minerals that are (or should be) present in the human body anyway, there is no risk by adding more of them into the body and they will not interact adversely with any normal prescription medications you might be taking for migraine or anxiety, or other common drugs. However, Magnesium is known to potentially reduce the effectiveness of some antibiotics if taken at or around the same time, so conventional medical advice suggests that if you are taking antibiotics and a magnesium supplement then you should have a 2-hour gap between taking them.
  • Are there any side effects from taking ActiveMg?

Magnesium in excess of 300mg a day has been known to cause some mild diarrhea, but the full dose (3 caps) of Migraine Stop contains exactly 300mg of elemental magnesium so you shouldn’t have any problems. If you have any worries just start gradually by taking 1 capsule per day in week 1, 2 capsules per day in week 2, then at week 3 increase to the full 3 capsule per day dose rate.
  • Can I take ActiveMg while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Our medical advisers who helped us design and formulate the product indicate that ActiveMg is completely safe for women trying to conceive, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but the medical fraternity is somewhat split on the issue of taking supplements during pregnancy and it often comes down to the personal opinion of an individual doctor. Medically speaking they are safe to take, but our recommendation is that you discuss it with your GP as this is often a very personal decision and both patient and doctor should be in alignment on the thinking behind it. The only ingredients in the product are Magnesium, Zinc, Vitamins B3 & B6, Vitamin B9 (as Folic Acid), B12, Cramp Bark and Passionflower. A combination of vitamins, mineral and plant extracts, so there is nothing in there that can cause harm, but it’s always best to get a second opinion. • What about Vitamin B6 toxicity? Is that real?

in theory, there is potential to take too much Vitamin B6, which can lead to neuropathy (tingling & numbness) in the hands and feet, but the dose of Vitamin B6 required to cause this is quite high. Clinical evidence suggests you have to take at least 500mg of B6 every day for an extended period of time for B6 toxicity to occur and this is 8 times the level in ActiveMg. You would need to take 23 – 24 capsules a day of ActiveMg to be at risk of B6 toxicity and you would need to do that every day for at least a month. So, on the normal maximum dose rate of 3 capsules per day of ActiveMg there is no risk of B6 toxicity, as B6 does not ‘build up’ or remain in the body. As soon as you stop taking it, the B6 flushes out. As with all supplements you should ensure you aren’t getting too much by taking other supplements that contains the same things. To take a straight B6 supplement in addition to ActiveMg would be unadvisable, as many straight B6 supplements can contain several hundred milligrams of B6 in each capsule.
  • What is Menoxcel Menopause Relief Formula?

Menoxcel is a clinically formulated dietary supplement containing a unique, high potency activated Amino Acid complex, along with some critical minerals including Magnesium. Clinical research has shown that during the Menopause phase certain key amino acids are often low, and the lack of these critical amino acids leads to the symptoms of night sweats, hot flushes and anxiety. The 3 most important of these amino acids are L-Arginine, L-Lysine and L-Carnitine.
  • How does Menoxcel work?

Hot flushes, night sweats, insomnia, nervous anxiety – these are just a few of the 57 symptoms that women can suffer when going through menopause. Research has shown that correcting and balancing amino acid levels in the menopause phase can achieve similar results to HRT – without the side effects. Amino acids are molecules that combine to make proteins, the building blocks of the body. Many amino acids are found in the food we eat. They play a vital role in functions such as digestion, anti-ageing, cellular repair and recovery, hormone regulation and many other important bodily functions and processes. Whilst it is essential that we eat a healthy, balanced diet to supply our bodies with the amino acids that it needs, there are 3 major amino acids that have been proven to relieve the symptoms of menopause and the levels of these are often difficult to obtain from food today. The 3 essential amino acids in Menoxcel are: Arginine - a part of the reason you experience hot flushes in menopause can be a condition called ‘endothelial dysfunction’. Put simply, your blood vessels struggle to circulate efficiently. The blood vessels cannot produce enough nitrogen monoxide – a chemical that relaxes blood vessels. Arginine develops into the important neurotransmitter nitrogen monoxide to relieve hot flushes and other endothelial dysfunction symptoms. A sufficient supply of Arginine counteracts endothelial dysfunction, ensures better vessel elasticity and therefore reduces the frequency and intensity of hot flushes and night sweats. Lysine - The amino acid Lysine is not produced by the body; it is found in the foods that we eat. Lysine is essential for the production of hormones and enzymes that are vital for supporting women in menopause. Lysine assists Arginine from being absorbed by cells – so it remains in circulation to ensure blood vessels work more effectively. Carnitine enjoys a reputation as a “fat burner”. A clinical study from 2013 was able to show that motivational training in connection with the daily administration of 500mg of L-Carnitine can lead to significant weight loss. Each of the overweight test people lost 400g of body fat within 4 weeks and reduced their abdominal girth by 1.3cm without having to change their nutritional or exercise habits.
  • How long does it take for Menoxcel to work?

In the majority of cases it takes around 3-4 weeks to get a noticeable result. We recommend finishing the first bottle before you make an assessment of the benefits for you. This gives the product a good time frame in which to build the amino acid levels in your body.
  • Can I stop taking Menoxcel when my symptoms have gone away?

Menoxcel works by rebalancing the body’s amino acid levels, as well as your B vitamins and selected minerals. Once your symptoms improve it is essential to maintain a daily dosage of at least 1 capsule, to keep your body balanced, so you should continue to take them as required so that the symptoms do not return.
  • Are there any side effects from taking Menoxcel?

There are no known adverse side effects from taking Menoxcel. The product is a blend of natural amino acids, vitamins, minerals and trace elements that are found in your normal daily food consumption. Also, the product is completely free of gluten and lactose, so there is no risk of allergy from these substances.
